Got there to 44 degrees and only 49 when I quit. Brrr! Timed it so I hit the water at 9:30 hoping for some sun and warmth but NOAA’s 30% cloud cover ended up 100%. Hit the water anyway. Deseret was averaging 19mph which seemed to match what I was seeing so went with the 6.0. The 1st half hour it was really up and down, 2 round trips totally maxed out in 5.0 winds and then putting one foot on each side of the mast to try and get back to shore with no wind. Ended up falling twice in no-wind jibes/tacks in 1st half hour. Then got back-winded and flattened. So much for staying dry. But by 10:00 it filled in and it was off to the races. I had an absolute blast until 12:00. Figured I would quit when the showers reached the base of Davenport Canyon but all that thinking got me was derigging in a rainstorm. Still, hot sailing overcame the cold air. Glad I got myself there.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
