"The whole day looks like foil board material to me." So that's what DaveO', I, and a winger all used. When I got to IB at 1ish, Dave already had his board on the beach and was rigging a 5.0. Impressive whitecaps, right up until we got on the water, then not much. How to describe the wind? Not so much gusty as intermittent; when it was on, it was reasonably steady, but then it would just about disappear. But every time we were about to quit, another wind line would appear, some of the best ones at around 4.

The water at IB is just below the rocks, leaving a narrow "beach" and a relatively short walk to the water. Water temp is mid 60s. Peak gust: 23mph; average wind speed:10.5mph.
