What a nice surprise:-) First noticed a bit of wind about 1. Whitecaps by the time I reached IB at 1:30. A lone kiter headed rapidly up the lake. After a hasty rig and a LONG carry, I got on the water about 2. The wind was fairly steady by DC standards. Nobody else launching from IB until George (7.5M sail) and Stone (wing) got on the water about 4, but a gradually swelling flock of kiters.

A series of cold nights seems to be having an effect on the water temp, which was steady at 75ºF for quite some time but has now dropped into the low 70s.
