Duplicate messages

I have subsribed to the Craigs forcast thread and it keeps sending old forcast over and over. Any ideas how to fix this?

Josh Gubler is working on this problem, but debugging the program for flaws like this can take many, many hours, days, or even weeks. He's believed he found the solution at least once, only to find out his solution didn't resolve the problem after all. I'm really sorry about this guys. I don't know how it started, and I've been working on it for weeks now. I am also subscribed to Craig's forecasts, and I only get one email per post. This has made it really hard for me to troubleshoot this, I'm basically trying to fix a problem that I can't see.

Thanks for trying to work on this. I am also experiencing the problem. Is there some specific info you need from us? Here are some basics from me:

Each day I get the forecast from 9/19 1-3 times. I also get the forecast from 9/20 once or twice but not every day. About every 3 days I get a notification that I have a private message. I did have a private message arrive about 2 weeks ago.

One hunch that I have had is that I get another email, or set of emails, after logging in. So if I log in 3x during the day, then I get 3 sets of email notifications. But I can't say that for sure. I am trying to keep better track now to see if there is anything behind that.

I typically use FireFox 3.0.14

Let us know if there is any other detail we can provide. I have actually unsubscribed to the forecast forum for now but still get the notifications. If you want to call me on the phone to have me try something feel free to do that. 801-691-4528.

One other tidbit. I have my preferences set to notify me of replies to a post to which I have contributed (such as this one) but I DON'T get those notifications.

just so you know I have got over 50 messages today, and i unsubscribed two days ago. I am currently on the phone with at to try and get them blocked. is there anything you can do?

I've unsubscribed to everything I've ever subscribed to.
Un did the email filter,
sent the dam thing to the spam box.
and they still keep coming.
Invasion of the UWA email...
Email I can live with, it's the fact its dinging my Blackberry all the tme.

Yea it went totaly nuts with the email today as fast as I could delele them they would send it again. Could it be that the box that leaves a copy on the server is checked?

Here is what I think has happened. The emails have been unreliable for a couple of months now. Some came through repetedly, others late or not at all. I've fixed a bug and now all of the emails that were stuck are making it through. I appologize that I didn't realize the load that was backed up. It should end soon.

Here's a suggestion: try changing your email address until this settles down.

If it doesn't clean up by tomorrow morning, I will disable all emails from the board until I come up with another solution.

Ok...I just went into the database and told it that all topic notification requests had been fulfilled. All emails should stop immediately; we'll see how long that lasts. Let me know if you get more emails dated after this post.
