Where to ride 1/26 - Monday Updated

Last night, lower elevation locations did not look rideable, but the forecast looks much more promising this morning.

Skyline and Strawberry both call for NW wind in the low to mid-teens and 2-4" of snow. Should be nice powder and snow squalls. Currently, the Strawberry meter is already showing a nice NW wind. The Skyline meter is reading calm, which is really odd for that location. I am not sure if the mountain is socked in or if the meter is down. Both the Strawberry and Skyline web cams are packed with snow, so if you are driving by and have a minute, we will all be grateful to you for clearing them. The PowMow webcam seems to only update every few days

Rush is the most promising of the valley locations with wind in the mid teens, it is already blowing there this AM. Herriman and Park City both look like low to mid teens at well.

Tuesday looks better for riding at Stawberry and Skyline with NW wind in the mid-teens or better on nice powder.

1 PM update. Strawberry cam is clear and meter is showing 12 gusting to 16. Looks like a good afternoon to ride Strawberry if you can break away. Wind is also blowing strong in the south end of the SLC valley, Rush, and Heber.

You were right. Skyline windmeter was frozen, but I did the crawl through feet of powder and the climb up the tower to clear up the issue with that and the frozen camera. Quite the experience for an out-of-towner that doesn't know what powder is. Should be good now, but there certainly wasn't ridable wind up there today.
