Well, you don't get much forecast info from me for a couple of reasons. Bear lake is almost too
far for a day trip, and I tend to stick with what's available about 1 to 2 hours from the SLC metro
area, where most of the Wind Riders are located, but I do have some experience with Bear lake
from my old water skiing days. Just like most of the area, Bear lake will blow with ridable
conditions under an approaching front, and after one. Naturally, I'd recommend the
North end on a South wind (before a front), and then the South end on a North wind
(after a front passes). But it also seems to develop an afternoon breeze virtually every
day when no weather makers are approaching. The afternoon breeze is probably rideable
and quite steady in the 8/16M range most summer days.
