Very little wind; peak gust all day 16 mph:-( Most of the time, my wind meter on the beach was reading less than 10 mph. I first notice a faint breeze at about 3:30. Got on the water about 4:30 and got a couple of foiling rides before the wind fizzled at 5. Then, of course, it came back just as I finished derigging. As far as I'm concerned, days like today are the whole reason for learning to foil; no way it would have been possible to plane except on HUGE gear.

Paul Bradshaw, who had been sailing at Sailboat Beach, stopped by Rainbow just as I was heading down to the water.

Interesting report Jim! Why do you think the DC meter was reading into the mid 20s all afternoon?

I wasn't aware of that. For what ever reason, it never blew that hard in Charleston. Who knows?
