Saturday Night Beginner Board Regatta

Postby Josh Shirley » Mon May 19, 2014 10:56 pm

Lots of windsurfers have beginner boards.
(if you don't I have a few loaners)

Saturday afternoon I will be going to either Provo Boat Harbor.

Bring out your beginner boards and a sail no bigger than 6m. (even smaller if you are learning)

I will drop a few bouys and set up a short course for the light wind beginner board fleet.
Great opportunity for beginners, intermediates, youth, etc.

Provo Boat harbor is shallow, warm and enclosed. In other words a great place for learning to sail within Utah.

Wind - generally if Bluffdale is blowing from the north 10+ there will be plenty of wind for beginners: http://www.windalert.com/spot/88057

My son Kenny has been learning to windsurf, we have been bringing his cousins and friends along to learn as well.
Kids in groups have a lot of fun and learn fast!
All year long I hear that you want to teach your kids - well don't let the other kids teach them.

If you just want to join and partice sailing then your invited too.

This Saturday (May 24th) will be the first run at it. Meet there around about 5pm.
The evening thermal will kick in right about then.
If the forecast looks good we will repeat the following weekend.

Call or email if you have any questions.

Well, rain will kill it today.
So I will push this off to next week.

Once I go through my travel schedule for the year I will set up some kid camps dates during the next 4 months.

See ya.
