Lake Utah Health Risks--TOXIC ALGAE BLOOM!

On the radio today I heard that lake Utah has several times toxic levels of Algae, according to World Health Organization standards. People touching/irrigating with Jordan river water are advised to seek other sources for a while. Anybody else concerned with immersion in lake Utah? I've never been in, but this lake has a bad water quality rep. As a beginner, I'm certainly getting wet wherever I'm sailing. :oo

So whats the status of UL now? Is it still bad to be in the water?

I can't find anything that says you can't get in the water right now, but if the water is bright green, where
you are launching, then you shouldn't spend much time in the water there. I know localized blooms had continued clear through August.

We've been kiting there for the last month or so. No one has turned into green monster yet. The water is "clear" for water activities. Just don't drink too much of it.
