Would have been smarter to have the newbie launch you with the kite over the water for your safety and for proper demonstration of skills and habits he will need moving forward. As the thread that Sherwin started the other day (

And... at the risk of just bitching when it was a thoroughly enjoyable session- does anybody out there know maritime law when it comes to right of way? I am not convinced that many do because it seems that very few yield to those on a starboard tack.
